A walk of consciousness - is not a race to the finish

Like we get to know more with every moment in life, with every next consciousness walk new happenings take place.

Atma Guru has said , one should not rush during the consciousness walk , as there is no prize waiting at the finishing line.

Every step should be a conscious one, and it is to develop this consciousness  with awareness that this walk around this hillock, is done on this occasion.

This full moon, mediators gathered at Belur temple, and the walk started at 4.15 pm, it was a leisurely walk, and some more people joined on the way  at Athanoorpatti.

Atma Guru had a meditation set for all the walkers at the ashram plot, for many it would have been the initiation into the world of meditation.

Some local people  had arranged water pots for the walkers, and one family had arranged tamarind rice , it was more of a picnic at one scenic spot, watching the sun set in the distant hills, and the moon just raising on the eastern horizon.

There was a detour this month ,from the usual route, it seemed the path had been worked upon the past month for the occasion, hugging the hillock, criss - crossing the farms, and palm groves, cool to the heart and warm to the mind.

The consciousness walk ended with individual blessings for all the participants by Atma Guru at the Belur temple portico.

By now the shining moon from the cosmos was gleaming her magical rays of silver on us all.

May we find what we need to find with the presence of  Atma Guru through the consciousness walk.

A banking dozen recieve a sermon at valapady

We have heard of  fish markets, fruit markets and flower markets, but who would coin a term as a money market, that is what a bank is during a working week day.

The tensed customer and the agitated tellers are anxious to get the money in or out.

Such a State Bank of India valapady branch had accepted to have SWAMI ATMA for the  evening after the banking timings.

The manager was kind to make the available space, with arranging the furniture to suit the occassion.

Swami let the bankers talk from the heart about their difficulties in the bank, and how they cope with the stress, of the crowd and the seriousness of money matters and the rules of the bank.

Swami reasoned with them, and shared ways of overcoming the difficulties with methods of yoga and meditation.

He invited them to take part in the uppanisha programmes for the welfare of themselves, and the bank in general.
